The Rutherglen United Cricket Club committee has been busy preparing for the 2017/18 season.
The club has a new committee that consists of President Mathew Andison, Vice President Craig Sibraa, Secretary Wayne Cooper, Treasurer Anthony Holmes and Committee Members Sharyn Holmes, Chris Welsh and Emmaline Howard.
The club would like to thank Darren Simpson for his enormous contribution as president over many years.
Darren can now have a rest and enjoy preparing a great wicket each week as the club curator and having a hit in C Grade.
The club will field the following teams in the WDCA for 2017/18
A Reserve: C Grade x2, Under 16, Under 14, Under 12 x 2 and Stars Girls Cricket League.
Senior Training: Seniors will commence on Sunday, September 10 from 11am at Barkly Park.
Registration Fees: Seniors $80, Juniors $65. Juniors with Melbourne Stars Junior Membership $80, Stars Girls Cricket League free.

New Junior Formats:
The Wangaratta and District Cricket Association have introduced the new Cricket Australia Junior Formats.
The biggest change is in the Under 12 format which has now been reduced to nine players per team and will be using a shorter pitch.
Rutherglen has entered two teams in this format.
Junior Coaches: Junior Coaches have been appointed for the 2017/18 Season. Coaches will be announced in the coming days.
Child Safety Standards:
The Rutherglen United Cricket Club needs to comply with the new Victorian Government Child Safety Standards as a result all volunteers at Junior Cricket are required to have a Victorian Working with Children Check.

Rutherglen United Cricket Club Juniors
The Rutherglen United Cricket Club is exited to announce the return of an Under 16 team for the 2017/18 WDCA season.
The club will also field a team in the Under 14 competition.
The WDCA has also introduced the new junior cricket formats to the Under 12 competition, Rutherglen will enter two teams.
If you wish to come along and play a great standard of cricket with great coaches, the junior registration night and training will be held on Thursday, September 14 at Barkly Park, Rutherglen from 4.30pm with a free sausage sizzle.
